After completing the Hacienda Door, I moved my tools and equipment up to the second condo and went home for the week-end. The original plan was to paint the front doors to the condo, but in light of the issues with the first door, plans changed a bit and I scrambled to collect my reference materials and paints to work on the third planned beach mural instead. I had only made some sketchy mental notes of the colors in the room and size of the wall at our earlier meeting back in May, I sure hoped that I remembered correctly. The client supplied me with the color of the walls, which helped a bit in color selection for my paint supply needs. I picked up the paint colors on Monday morning before setting out and drove the two hours across state to again camp out in their guest room and work magic on the walls.
The entire work is nearly 15 feet wide and almost 8 feet tall. We decided to paint a faux wood frame around the mural rather than fade it into the existing paint, so that it would be easier to change the wall paint color and repaint at any point in the future. I would love to wake up to this beach every morning, wouldn’t you?
So nice, Ellen! I’d like to see where it ends!
