Sometimes it’s good to challenge yourself. The beautiful views in Colorado can be difficult to capture unless you have a panoramic view camera.

The sheer vastness of the mountains, meadows and canyons are just so amazing!
Last winter I started these canvases- small enough to fit on my scanner. I taped them together and painted them as one painting, but trying also to have each canvas be able to stand alone as a composition. This morning, I clipped the three apart and scanned them in, reassembling them for the triptych at top.

The work combined several views from our detour along Trough Road in Colorado We spent a few morning hours photographing one beautiful vista after another, seldom seeing another car or truck along the gravel road through the mountain pass. One of my fondest memories of the trip, I think there will be many more paintings coming out of that detour!

I’m going to have a hard time parting with these, but I only have so much wall space, paints and canvasses to buy, and can always paint more!
The original canvases are each 8″ by 10″ in size, and will be offered as a set. Prints of the individual canvasses are available HERE. Please contact me if you are interested while I decide on pricing for these, and the larger similar canvas yet to be photographed. SOLD, now in a private collection in Colorado.
