Day Care Library Murals
Yesterday I got to go back to the day care center and work on another fun project in the freshly painted library. It was a blast to listen to the kids playing all day and see their little faces occasionally peek around the easel that blocked the doorway to see how things were progressing on the day care library murals.
Formerly the office, Debbie and Chuck, the owners of this wonderful in home day care decided a space for reading stories to the kids would be a more useful use of the room. Office and business work needed a quieter location away from the kids, so it was moved upstairs.
The room had already been painted with a lively shade of grass green and new book shelves installed to make it ‘The Library’. Debbie came up with the basic theme of bees, and I ran with it- making them ‘spelling bees’ and creating a hive of a big stack of books with ‘bee’ related titles. Yeah- they’re little kids, they can’t read too many words, but the adults get a kick out of it, and it’s adorable.
