Outdoor Cartoon Murals
This week I spent every day working in the most wonderful day care center: Ready, Step, Grow. Already very child friendly with lots of colorful toys, fun things to play on, and a terrific staff of caregivers, I was asked to create some outdoor cartoon murals for some of the rooms. Specifically, the infants’ room, the toddlers’ room and the children’s bathroom. Also, they wanted me to do something creative with the two ugly grey rough concrete large egress window wells. Debbie and Chuck had ideas for themes for the rooms, new flooring was being put down in a couple of them, and new area rugs ordered. Together we kicked around a few loose ideas, then they turned me loose to create!

I love the farm rug, don’t you? |

a square frame to hold a scrapbook page for each infant will be hung on each ‘window’ |

I love the outdoorsy feel to this room |

I had the best week playing in the paint, creating art for the littlest children. And for those of you who know my ‘special signature’- it’s all over on everything I painted this week. For those of you who don’t know what that is- while I am painting, I am thanking God for this creative gift and with each prayer of thanks, I paint three of something, and sometimes 12 of something. The owner of the work ends up surrounded by gratitude to God. So look carefully at the photos, and see if you can pick them all out.
Thanks Chuck and Debbie, can’t wait to come back and see it again, hang out with the kids, and kick around some more ideas. Thanks for all your trust in me!
