The walls and ceiling are faux finished to look like an old french garret, complete with a few cracks painted in. The Paris window view mural just completes the room. I loved this project!
I was asked to paint a scene overlooking the rooftops in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower in the background in this windowless bathroom.
The bathroom adjoins a small room the homeowner uses as an office- also painted with a ‘french garret’ effect on the walls (by someone else). She showed me that room to do some touch ups on the walls. I suggested also including the ceiling to give the room the look it should have had to begin with. She loved what I did in the office so much, she had me paint the bathroom to coordinate with it.
What fun it would be to take a bath in this bathroom! The ‘Paris Window View’ mural gives it such a romantic feel. I love the french buildings, shutters on the windows, flowers in the flower boxes. There’s the last light of the sunset coming in the window to light up the stone archway, and a pot of ivy on the sill.
The home owner walked in after I had finished the work and gone and thought to herself ‘I better close the blinds on that window!’ This is the kind of work I really enjoy doing.
