Finishing Artwork
Back in the studio again today before heading out to get some supplies. Only small details really remain to be added in. The differences between the two photos are pretty minor, but essentially I think it may be done. This point in finishing artwork I like to call ‘tweaking’. I will stand there and just look at the work, waiting for something to ‘bother’ me about it, or notice something that I intended to do but didn’t. Sometimes it’s something that stands out too much that shouldn’t.
I might deepen a shadow or two just a bit, or add a highlight to something to make it stand out against the background. Or add some shape to a rock. Whatever I notice. Tweaking the work until it is done.
See how the sunlight goes through the water to light up the rocks and pebbles under the water? You can see the water flowing gently around the half submerged boulders, dappled as the light breaks through.
I’ll wait for a couple of days, look at it a few times and see if anything seems to be needed or adjusted, then apply a finish coat. I signed it, so it must be done, right?
Thoughts anyone?
So lovely, looking like Fall!. I love your color palette, very serene.
