Morning in the Smokies

Great Smoky Mountains Artwork and Prints

As the year came to a close, I was inspired to take a short trip back to the Smokies and try to capture the beauty that surrounded us there on our trip down south last September for some Great Smoky Mountains artwork.
Just for fun, I took WIP photos of the work every day, posted them on Facebook as I worked, and now here on my blog, so you can see how the work progressed on a daily basis.
Just below is the completed work (18 X 24), now available for sale as an original by contacting me directly, or as a print on my Fine Art web site.

The final step was to add in the charming details of the work, the back lit Cardinal Flowers, and the Pipe vine Swallowtails that were so beautiful in the splashes of sunlight in the mountains that beautiful September day.
I hope you enjoyed seeing a little bit about how a painting progresses from blank canvas to completed work, and consider this one for your home or office.  It’s a serene, contemplative piece that is sure to look great where-ever it is hung.
