“To every thing there is a season….
What a sweet little hand painted occasional table! Spring has sprung here at the studio and our Robin has begun laying eggs. Inspiration struck again this week, so I painted the top of this chair side table with a nest and a couple of Robin eggs. Graced with a favorite bit of scripture, it would look lovely next to your favorite reading chair or in a guest room.
I love these little tables! This one is 24 inches wide by 12 inches deep by 23 inches tall. I’ve used them in small foyer/entry areas and as an accent in a hallway. It would even work as a night stand.
The base has been painted with a pale taupe shade, distressed and glazed with a deeper taupe to bring out the detail of the base. I used the same colors on the top, with the addition of the hand-painted nest in all shades of beige, taupe and brown. The Robin egg blue is the perfect complement to all of the neutral shades and is one of my favorite color combinations.
With a polyurethane finish on the entire piece, there is no danger of harming the art by setting anything on it, this piece will hold up to every day use.
The lettering is hand painted in four colors to coordinate with the art, then lightly distressed for effect.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 is a well known Bible verse: “To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven……” Not to mention the song ‘Turn, Turn, Turn’ by the Byrds.
How much is this little hand painted occasional table gem? It can be yours for $225.00. Let me know if you are interested, this one of a kind beauty won’t last long. Claim it in the comments below!
