Graphic Sports Balls
Such a simple mural for a little boy, a great shade of blue, and something he won’t soon tire of. I truly enjoyed creating this room for him- the painterly graphic sports balls and dashed lines for bounce trails just gave the room some fun without being overwhelming. Each ‘ball’ was loosely brushed on and detailed for texture before adding the dotted line bounce trails. The window is bracketed with the balls, creating a focal point for the room. The other walls will be left plain, book shelves and furniture would cover any artwork there. Framed pictures and a bulletin board will fill out additional color needed in the room.
I took the idea for the walls directly from the bedding- a quilt featuring circles of different patterns of fabric and stitching around them. It’s just a simple idea, but one that really pulls the whole room together. Plus, this look is one that will grow with him into his teen years. He can add what-ever he wants to the remaining walls, and change it all through the years.
What boy would not love to have this room?
