I’ve been at it again. It was well past time for a total overhaul on my web site, so that’s what I’ve been doing for the past few weeks. New backgrounds, new colors, new header art, buttons, navigation, structure- all kinds of stuff were gathered together in my website ideas folder, ready to arrange them in a way that made sense. Among my web site ideas were behind the scenes links, animations, photo album slide shows, and graphics. I worked hard using a whole new computer language that this old dinosaur certainly never learned as a kid playing with blocks.
I’ve divided the site into two sections as you can see above, each with their own menu and navigation, but somewhat interlinked. Most of you know that in addition to painting wall murals, fancy painted finishes and interior design, I am also a fine artist, showing my works in local galleries and shows. I have sold several paintings through the years, some on commission, some of them out of my own collection of works. So, I needed a section to better showcase that growing side of the business.
One of my latest works: “In Memory” is what I decided to use as a background for all of the page headers on the site, adding titles and framing to just a part of the work. Currently it hangs in our dining room, but will take a visit to Northville’s ‘Art House’ for the month of February and will be for sale there. I do love it, but I certainly can’t keep all of my work, can I?
The sketchy background on canvas is pretty fun- I created that on our new Galaxy Note 8.0! It has an app on it to allow painting, sketching and all kinds of fun things. It has a small stylus included that allows me to draw right on the screen. I think it will be ideal for working with clients on finalizing the details of their projects.
The ‘Murals’ section of the site is very similar to the old site with plenty of photos and information about how I work, I mostly updated the color scheme and decorative elements to the new look and structure and added a few photos to the galleries there.
So, do take a little trip over to ellenleigh.com and check out the new site, let me know how you like my new home on the web.
P.S. The version of my website above has now been replaced with this latest version on a new server, but it is kind of interesting to see these screen shots of how the 2014 site looked before I decided to update yet again.
